Dr. P. Senthilnathan

I am Dr. P. Senthilnathan, a Surgical Gastroenterologist with a special interest in HPB surgery, hernia surgery and complex abdominal problems.

My journey in medicine began with a dream I carried from childhood not only to become a doctor, but also a surgeon. Inspired by my father, a dedicated physician who served in the government sector for over 33 years, I learned early the values of compassion, ethics and patient-friendly care. Watching him treat patients with sincerity instilled in me the desire to follow the same path.

I pursued my MBBS at Coimbatore Medical College in 1994, where my foundation in medicine began. After completing MS in General Surgery at the same institution, I had the privilege of training under Dr. C. Palanivelu, a pioneer of laparoscopic surgery in India. His mentorship shaped my skills in advanced laparoscopic surgery, enabling me to manage complex abdominal cases at an early stage of my career.

Further enriching my journey, I trained in Seoul, Korea and Heidelberg, Germany, where I worked with global leaders in pancreatic and liver surgery, including Prof. Marcus Büchler. These experiences deepened my expertise in handling some of the most challenging surgical conditions.

In 2016, I embraced robotic surgery, stepping into a new era of precision and minimally invasive care. This technology allows me to combine surgical expertise with advanced innovation, offering my patients the highest standards of treatment.

Beyond surgical excellence, I strongly believe in building trust and connection between doctor and patient. In today’s world of overwhelming information, I stand by evidence-based, ethical and patient-centric practices. Every patient, regardless of background, deserves the best possible care and it is my commitment to deliver exactly that.

As I continue this journey, the smiles of my patients, along with national and international recognition for my work, fuel my passion to keep striving for better outcomes and advancing surgical care.
